Sehome, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Bellingham,features many historic homes. This well maintained neighborhood contains a handful of medium size lots, most of which look out over Bellingham, the Canadian Mountains or Mount Baker. Narrow streets wind through the hilly neighborhood with its well-maintained homes and mature landscaping. At the top of the hill is an arboretum jointly owned by the City of Bellingham and Western Washington University. Trails wind through the forest and provide breathtaking views of the bay.
Residents are a mix of families, retirees and college students. Although some of the grand turn of the century mansions remain, many of them have been turned into boarding houses or been divided into several units. The majority of the multi-family residences in Sehome have 3 or fewer units.
