The Meridian neighborhood is one of the central shopping districts in Bellingham. Featuring Bellis Fair Mall, restaurants, plaza malls and other large stores such as Home Depot, Pier 1 and Barnes and Noble, this area is a hub of activity. There is an excellent combination of big local and big name stores to cover all your shopping needs. Meridian was originally the commercial core of the Guide Meridian neighborhood, but became its own neighborhood in 1995 after years of continued growth.
Meridian is home to two of the cities main traffic arteries: Guide Meridian Street and Bakerview. The Guide Meridian is the main North/South road that leads to the northern part of the county and to Canada. Whereas Bakerview is a major East/West artery that has undergone significant growth with budding condominium and townhome developments as well as shopping areas.
