This lovely historic district located on Bellingham's South Side was originally founded in 1889.
Fairhaven was originally one of four pioneer settlements on Bellingham Bay which later merged to become the City of Bellingham. The neighborhood is best known for its beautifully preserved historical buildings, sixteen on which are now on the state and federal historic register.
Residence of Fairhaven are intensely proud of their community and have taken great care in preserving the charm and pleasure of this charming Bellingham niche. Currently there are many building projects taking place throughout the neigborhood. Visitors will notice each and every project retains that original Fairhaven touches that make it a special place.
